Economic Development

Sycamore Township works with businesses, developers, residents, and regional/state partners to identify applicable incentive, loan, entitlement or grant programs that would assist businesses with construction, expansion, workforce development among other tools for those businesses to thrive within the Township.

Sycamore Township utilizes all tools as authorized by the State Legislature to foster economic development including; Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Community Reinvestment Areas (CRA), Enterprise Zones, Joint Economic Development Districts and Zones (JEDD/JEDZ) / New Community Authority (NCA), Finance Authority, and Port Authority among others.

Sycamore Township partners with several neighboring municipalities for Joint Economic Development Districts and Zones within the Township. Residents in the Montgomery JEDD and businesses within the JEDD/JEDZ are subject to a .75% tax on net profits or qualifying wages, which is collected by the partner municipality.
