Construction on Sycamore Road continues and is starting to take shape. The roundabout has been completed and the phase from Plainfield Road to Blue Ash Road is now finished. The next phase moves east across Blue Ash Road to install new storm sewers, curb and gutter and new pavement on the section of Sycamore Road between Blue Ash Road and Kenwood Roads. The final construction phase will be the paving of the final surface course of pavement throughout the project limits.
Though this is a large project, it is not a heavy burden to Sycamore Township tax payers. It is being paid for by a combination of grants and local funds. There is a federal grant paying for 78% of the project and a state grant paying for another 11%. This leaves only 11% of the project cost to be paid for by local funds.
The reconstruction of the road, installation of improved storm sewers and the addition of sidewalks are really going to make a vast improvement to this corridor. It is currently on schedule to be completed at the end of this construction season.
The Hamilton County Engineer has announced the closure of Sycamore Road at the
intersection of Blue Ash Road from June 1st through June 13th.
