The Zoning Administrator is responsible for oversight and management of the land use planning and zoning functions of the Township. The Zoning Administrator is responsible for the enforcement of the Township's Zoning Resolution. The Zoning Administrator staffs the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Zoning Commission. While serving as staff to these boards, the Zoning Administrator exercises independent judgment based on the interpretation of the land use plan, zoning codes and the needs and best interests of the Township. The Zoning Administrator will also serve as the Township's liaison to appropriate Hamilton County agencies, and other organizations as determined by the Township Administrator or Board of Trustees. Mr. Bickford is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning in 1996, with a degree in Urban Planning and Design and a minor in Information Systems. Four years of public service throughout various organizations, including Miami Valley Regional Planning in Dayton, OH, the city of Milford, and the Butler County Department of Development.

The Zoning Assistant supports the
Planning and Zoning Department and Zoning Administrator
with its everyday duties, including but not limited
to the performance of plan review for zoning compliance,
completeness of zoning applications and case files,
answering phones, issuing zoning certificates, maintains
the quarterly news letter, investigates and determines
proper zoning and maintenance code violations, answers
public inquires, makes interpretations of the Sycamore
Township Zoning Code and Property Maintenance Code,
and resolves complaints and violations of the codes,
and works with the Sycamore Township Fire & Maintenance Departments to resolve issues of non-compliance.
In addition, maintains accurate records of the proceedings
of the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals,
including taking of minutes, and preparation of
resolutions and relieves office officials of clerical
work and minor administrative business details,
contributing to all aspects of an assistant role.

The Zoning Inspector
provides quality and effective services to the resident’s
and business community of the Township. He spends
a considerable amount of time responding to citizen
complaints, performing final inspections, meeting
with property owners, answering questions, conducts
field inspections, answer public inquires, makes
interpretations of the Sycamore Township Zoning
Code and Property Maintenance Code, resolves complaints
and violations of the codes, and works with the
Sycamore Township Fire & Maintenance Departments
to resolve issues of non compliance.
