How We Work for "YOU!"
Sycamore Township EMS & Fire Department staffing consists of career and part-time personnel. The department's personnel are cross-trained in multiple disciplines. Emergency medical disciplines include EMT and Paramedic. Firefighting disciplines include Fire Safety Inspector, Hazardous Materials Technician, Basic Rescue Technician, Public Education Specialist and Professional Driver Certifications. Other services include Public Safety Instructors, Certified Child Seat Inspectors and CPR Instructors certified through the American Heart Association.
Sycamore Township enjoys a CLASS 2 FIRE RATING and a premier advanced medical service. Our staff is thoroughly trained in disaster management, community fire defense planning and medical disaster services. Sycamore Township EMS & Fire crews operate on shift assignments. Career personnel work on a 24/48 schedule with part-time personnel working 12 hours shifts. The department operates under a three unit concept with Career Officers managing these three shifts. Normal staffing for a 24 hour period in Sycamore Township is 12 personnel operating out of two fire stations. Headquarters is Station 92 which is located at 8540 Kenwood Road. Station 93 services the northern part of the Township and is located at 11745 Solzman Road. Station 92 operates with a minimum staffing of 7 during a 24-hour period and Station 93 operates with a minimum staffing of 5 during a 24-hour period. Service is provided to the community 365 days a year 24 hours a day with on station personnel. On station staffing insures the fastest response possible. |
