A delightful event for the entire family, the annual Festival in Sycamore caters to your taste buds with great dishes from area restaurants, and to your ears with the sounds of great local, regional, and national artists including Little Feat, Dave Mason, Leon Russell, Ambrosia, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Pure Prairie League, Poco, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Mark Farner, Rare Earth, Tommy Tutone, Blue Oyster Cult, Rick Derringer, Orleans, and Elvin Bishop. The Festival in Sycamore has become a much anticipated event over the past 17 years with great music, food, and a great variety of rides and games for the kids, and much more! Best of all, admission is FREE! Also, free parking is available onsite (weather permitting) and in marked shuttle lots at St. Saviour Church, behind Deer Park High School, Bethle Baptist Temple, behind the Sycamore Township Administration Bldg., and at European Auto Care on Sycamore Rd. The dates for the 2010 Festival in Sycamore are Friday, July 16, and Saturday, July 17, from 6:00 P.M.- Midnight at Bechtold Park, 4312 Sycamore Road. This year's event features a fabulous musical lineup. On Friday, July 16th, at 6:00 P.M., local favorite the Gamut returns to the Festival, followed by the great rock and blues of the Jon Justice Band at about 7:30. Then, at approximately 9:30 P.M., STARSHIP featuring MICKEY THOMAS hits the stage. With hits including We Built This City, Find Your Way Back, Sara, and Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now, this group still excites the crowd with their live performances. Saturday, July 17th will open at 6:00 with the fabulous sounds of the Natalie Wells Band. Natalie and the band put on such a great show last year that we invited them back! Next up, at about 7:30, will be The Whammies, one of the best party bands in the area. Then, at about 9:30 P.M., to close out another great Festival, SURVIVOR will take the spotlight. Best known for their #1 hit Eye of the Tiger, SURVIVOR also hit the top 10 charts with songs including I'm High on You, Can't Hold Back and The Search is Over.
